Iceland urgently recall chicken products over salmonella fears

Several chicken products have been recalled over safety fears due to risk of frozen chicken being contaminated with salmonella.

The Food Standards Agency has issued alerts for items available at Iceland.

Salmonella can cause a fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

What has been recalled?

  • Iceland Chip Shop Curry Chicken Breast Toppers
  • Pack size 400g
  • Best before: 27 February 2021, 17 March 2021 and 8 April 2021
  • Iceland Southern Fried Chicken Popsters
  • Pack size: 220g
  • Best before: 04/04/2021

What action has Iceland taken?

Iceland has recalled all the above products with point of sale notices being displayed in all retail stores that are selling the products.

The notices will explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

What as the Food Standards Agency said ?

The UK food authority are urgently encouraging those who have bought any of the above products to not consume them.

What should you do next?

The Food Standards Agency said the items should be returned to the store from where they were bought for a full refund or contact Iceland Customer Care line on 0800 328 0800 and select option 2.
