Iceland to sell hot wings 230 times hotter than a jalapeno pepper

Enjoy chicken wings but also like showing people how tolerant of hot flavours you are? Then, boy, this one is for you!

Frozen food specialists Iceland is selling the UK's hottest supermarket chicken wings.

At least, that's what it claims.

The Mirror writes that Iceland's Red Hot Chicken Wings measure in at over 750,000 on the Scoville Scale, meaning they're definitely not for the faint hearted.

Last year the store launched Red Hot Chicken Thighs and this year it's moved further up the chicken's body and given its wings the too hot to handle treatment.

The 630g bag costs £3, and they can be cooked from frozen or popped on the barbeque.

A spokesperson said: "Iceland’s team of development chefs were convinced they had brought the heat last year.

"However, following reports on social media from brave Brits who claimed they could handle the fiery spice, they were inspired to dial things up a level by adding more of the world’s hottest chilli to really put those daring shoppers to the test."

The wings also come with a warning to anyone brave enough to try them.
