Iceland's new Half Pounder is meaty monster designed to appeal to even the biggest burger appetites

Frozen food chain Iceland is launching a beefy new Half Pounder burger designed to give shoppers a serious amount of bite for their buck.

The Half Pounder Burger will sell at just £3 for two and is made with a combination of premium Aberdeen Angus cuts used in the mince.

Aberdeen Angus beef is famed for its high degree of marbling, which results in a truly unique taste.

The burger is made with a combination of two cuts of beef – brisket and chuck - both of which are known for their tender texture and bold beefy flavour.

To complement the rich flavour of the 100 per cent British Aberdeen Angus beef, a distinctive blend of miso, onion, salt and pepper was added to the recipe to enhance the meaty flavour of the burger.

Iceland recommends topping the Half Pounder with a strong cheddar, crispy bacon, gherkins and choice of sauce.

Shoppers with a big appetite can also team two Half Pounder Burgers together with  Iceland’s limited edition Big Triple Burger Bun (£0.69, 2 pack), creating a burger so big only real burger masters can finish.

The Half Pounder Burger is available in store and online from Monday, July 29.
