Iceland recalls Greggs sausage rolls over fears they contain pieces of plastic

Greggs is recalling its frozen sausage rolls over fears they may contain small pieces of plastic.

The pack of 16 mini sausage rolls are exclusively sold in Iceland stores.

The warning does not affect products being sold in Greggs bakeries, or other Greggs products sold in Iceland.

In a food alert published by the Food Safety Agency, the affected pastries are described as "unsafe to eat".

The FSA said: "Greggs is recalling its frozen Mini Sausage Rolls (16 Pack) because they may contain small pieces of plastic.

"The presence of plastic could present a choking hazard, makes this product unsafe to eat and presents a safety risk. This product is exclusively sold in Iceland Stores and does not affect the products sold in Greggs."

Customers who have have the contaminated sausage rolls are being asked to return it to the Iceland store where it was bought for a full refund.
