Iceland launches urgent recall on chicken dippers which may contain hard plastic

Chicken dippers sold by a high street supermarket are being recalled over fears it may be 'unsafe to eat.'

Iceland has pulled its 60-pack of crispy chicken dippers as they may contain pieces of hard plastic. 

If you have already bought the item, you are being urged not to eat the dippers.

Instead, the product should be returned to the store it was bought from for a full refund.

Food Standards Agency said: "This product may contain pieces of hard plastic which makes the product unsafe to eat."

Which products are affected? 

  • Iceland 60 crispy chicken dippers

All date codes prior to January 9, 2021 are being recalled.  

No other Iceland products are known to be affected.

Another product recall

Bakery company Tan Y Castell is recalling its chocolate chip griddles because the product may contain milk not mentioned on the label. 

The product could be unsafe for customers with a milk intolerance and those customers are urged to return the cakes for a full refund.

Affected products: The 6-pack of cakes with the batch code 5060001830018 and a best before date of July 7, July 13, July 21, July 24, August 4, August 11 or August 17 this year.  

No other Tan Y Castell products are known to be affected.
