Last year vegan sausage roll mania hit the UK thanks to a certain high street bakery, well now it's the turn of a UK supermarket to throw their hat into the ring with their own version.
Greggs sparked a fast food frenzy across the country with their vegan sausage roll last year, with it selling out at a number of branches, including a few in Newcastle, the birthplace of the famous company.
Well now it's Iceland who are ready to tempt people's purse strings with their version.
Following the continued success of their exclusive No Bull plant based range, Iceland are answering the pastry prayers of vegans and flexitarians across the nation by expanding it to include the No Porkies Sausage Roll, priced £2 for a pack of 6.
Seasoned plant based sausage meat encased in a flaky, indulgent pastry, the rolls work out at 33p each, cheaper than an individual Greggs vegan sausage roll which is priced at the £1 mark.
Iceland say "Hailed as having ‘the best vegan range around’ by plant-loving social media users, Iceland is set to revolutionise the nation’s buffets, lunch boxes and mid-afternoon snacks with the No Porkies Sausage Roll.
"Vegans can now enjoy the king of snacks without leaving their home by stocking their freezers full of Iceland’s new roll, which can be baked from frozen in 25-27 minutes.
"The treat has the perfect ratio of vegan sausage mince to pastry and what’s more, it can be baked from frozen with no soggy bottoms in sight."
