Iceland launch retro ice cream collection including Arctic Rolls and Screwballs

Who has fond memories of running out to the ice cream van for a 99? Was too much monkey's blood never enough for you?

Well, you might want to head to Iceland as the frozen food store have just launched a retro ice cream collection that is the stuff of childhood dreams.

Iceland shoppers can rewind back to their childhood with classic treats including Neapolitan Wafers (£1.75, 720ml), Arctic Roll (£1.00, 250g) and Raspberry Ripple Soft Scoop Ice Cream (£1.50, 2L). The retro resurgence follows the success of Iceland’s nostalgia-inducing ice cream treat, the Mini Vienna, which sold over 135,000 units last year.

Iceland's Mini Vienna (Iceland)

A truly classic British frozen dessert, £1 the Arctic Roll  is made up of vanilla ice cream which is coated in strawberry jam and then wrapped in a delicious, light sponge – enjoy with fresh berries for a suitably summer treat.

The Neapolitan Wafer (£1.75, 720ml), is perfect for ice cream sandwich lovers; soft layers of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream between two crispy wafers – what’s not to love?

Nothing shouts British summer time louder than a crisp cone piled high with Raspberry Ripple Soft Scoop Ice Cream (£1.50) a classic, creamy vanilla ice cream with channels of sweet and sharp raspberry sauce.

Brits looking to stock up on ice creams and lollies can do so without blowing the budget thanks to Iceland’s vintage range. Shoppers can grab Choc Ices (£1, 8 pack), Rocket Lollies (£1, 8 pack), Raspberry Ripple Screwballs (£1, 6 pack) and Mystery Lollies (£2, 12 pack), allowing ice cream fans to cater for a party   for as little as 13p per head.

Fans of Iceland’s Mini Viennas   are also being treated to a brand new flavour for 2019 – Mini Chocolate & Mint Viennas. Priced at £1.50 for 5, they are not only delicious, but summer diet-friendly thanks to being only 85 calories per ice cream.

There are branches of Iceland in the likes of Gateshead, Benwell and Byker.
