Iceland issues update on opening times and deliveries during coronavirus outbreak

Frozen food specialist Iceland has issued advice to customers who want to shop in store and online during the coronavirus outbreak.

Iceland says all stores are remaining open with the usual opening hours and home delivery is still available for those who order in store.

However, it says those who shop online may find some items are limited due to demand for food and other groceries. A statement says: "We are experiencing high demand for some products which means you may not receive all your items. We will do our very best to deliver everything you have ordered and apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

"On the morning of your delivery you will receive an Order Dispatch email, which details any missing items. You will not be charged for any items you do not receive."

The store also says delivery stops are available six days in advance but they are booking up quickly. The only way to order online is via the Iceland website because it is not accepting phone or email orders.

As with stores, online orders will also be limited for some items to prevent stockpiling, says Iceland.

It has also confirmed the procedure for those who are self isolating. It says: "Our delivery drivers will always do their best to deliver your shopping to you. If you are self-isolating, before you answer the door, you can ask the driver to leave your items on the doorstep."
