Iceland is selling the UK’s hottest burger made with the strongest chilli pepper in the world

Iceland is selling the hottest burger that shoppers can buy in any UK supermarket.

Even if you’re a fan of spicy food, this one is not for the faint-hearted.

The barbecue favourite has been made with Carolina Reaper, which hits an eye-watering 2.2 million units on the Scoville Heat Scale - making it 200 times hotter than the humble Jalapeño.

Iceland’s 4 Scarily Spicy Carolina Reaper Quarter Pounders cost £2.50 a pack and are available in stores and online here now - perfect for the bank holiday weekend.

The burgers follow the success of Iceland’s Carolina Reaper range which has previously caused a storm on social media with shoppers wanting to take on the challenge, reports Birmingham Live.

The beef burgers have been blended with the world’s hottest chilli pepper, rather than topped with spice which according to Head Chef, David Lennox, intensifies the taste of chilli within the meat.

If customers think they can handle the heat, Iceland have also launched Carolina Reaper Chilli Chicken Wings (£3.00, 900g) in time for the al fresco dining season.

Spice lovers have previously praised the supermarket’s Carolina Reaper range which includes Carolina Reaper Chicken Breast Fillet Strips (£3.00, 540g) and Carolina Reaper Chicken Breast Fillet Chunks (£3.00, 500g).
