It has been a pretty busy 24 hours for Jason Manford after he revealed that he had been knocked back by Tesco for a job.
The comedian applied for a role at the supermarket's Aldery Road Express store in Wilmslow seven weeks ago after hearing how supermarkets needed to up their works force due to the demand of the coronavirus pandemic.
And Jason, 43, said he 'wanted to do his bit' after his theatre show was cancelled.
Sadly, he wasn't chosen for a job and joked on Twitter that he was 'livid'.
But Tesco personally responded to Jason after his tweets caught their attention.
Now, Iceland have got in on the act with a very generous offer.
The Salford comic, who has spent more than a month volunteering as a driver and home schooling six children, has been offered a one day only role at the frozen food store.
And they made the offer even more tempting.
A tweet from Iceland's official account said: "'Our door is always open for you.
"Help us out for the day and we’ll make a donation to the NHS in your name."
Iceland's managing director also tweeted: "Looking forward to welcoming @JasonManford to #TeamIceland," with Jason responding: "Seeya on the Ice...land."
And fans have praised the star for offering his help during such difficult times.
"Always had the impression you were a kindhearted soul, well done for ferrying folks around," one tweeted.
Another said: "Well done though for offering to do your bit."
Good work, Jason!
