The images, originally shared by Aparna Yadav on Instagram on March 19, show the couple spending time together with their daughters during an overseas trip. In the post, Aparna shared around five photographs from Iceland’s Blue Lagoon, writing, “Blue lagoon with my doll. pic credit to dear Prathama bitiya #iceland @iamprateekyadav.”
The family holiday has since gained attention as one of the last publicly visible moments of the couple together with their children before Prateek Yadav’s untimely passing.
Public dispute and reconciliation
The couple had been in the spotlight earlier this year after a public marital dispute surfaced in January. Prateek Yadav, son of late Mulayam Singh Yadav and half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav, had posted a strongly worded message on social media accusing Aparna Yadav of harming his family relationships and prioritising fame and influence over personal life. In the post, he had also referred to her as a “family destroyer” and stated that he intended to seek divorce.
The posts sparked widespread attention on social media and political circles, particularly given Aparna Yadav’s public profile. She had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2022 after previously being associated with the Samajwadi Party, and currently serves as vice-chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission.
However, within days, Prateek Yadav issued a public clarification, stating that the dispute had been resolved after mutual discussions. On January 28, he shared a video confirming reconciliation and said there was “no longer any dispute” between them. He also posted another video featuring Aparna Yadav, captioned, “Haters, go to hell.”
Final public appearance abroad
The Iceland trip in March appeared to reinforce the couple’s reconciliation, with images showing them together during a family vacation with their daughters. The photographs have now resurfaced following Prateek Yadav’s sudden death, making them one of the final public glimpses of the family together.
Prateek Yadav, who largely stayed away from active politics, was known for his interest in fitness, business ventures, and animal welfare activities.
