Iceland is shutting its doors on Boxing Day to give workers an extra day with family and friends.
The chain joins Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Asda who previously announced closures. The supermarkets will join non-essential stores that have been forced to close their doors due to Tier 4 measures in place across the UK.
However most Iceland stores across the UK will reopen on December 27 from 10am to 4pm. So shoppers will still be able to stock up on frozen canapés and booze ahead of New Year's Eve.
If you need to get to your nearest Iceland, you can check the online store locator here.
- December 26th: CLOSED
- December 27th: 10am-4pm
- December 28th-30th: 8am-6pm
- December 31st: 8am-5pm
If you can’t leave the house due to health reasons or are self-isolating, there are thousands of delivery slots with free delivery still available from Iceland.
Iceland recently added some luxury canapés to its biggest ever party food range for Christmas. Just in time for the festive season, the supermarket has added a selection of indulgent canapés that includes Duck and Orange Roses and Red and Gold Wild Shrimp.
If you like a bit of spice Iceland has also unveiled spicy Carolina Reaper Pigs in Blankets for Christmas. The Carolina Reaper was first created in 2013 and is known for for its intense heat of 2.2 million Scoville Units - the hottest chili in the world. The hot new edition to the range will certainly spice up festive gatherings this year.
Love Greggs as much as we do? Iceland has also brought back its limited-edition Festive Bakes, which cost £2 for a pack of two. We’ve already started clearing out the freezer to stock up on these.
