Iceland are selling a huge 1.8kg leg of lamb for a tenner this Easter

When it comes to Easter food, as well as all the chocolate we can possibly cram in, it's customary to have a roast dinner with lamb.

So to celebrate the occasion, Iceland have slashed the price on their massive 1.8kg legs of lamb by a third, cutting them from £15 to £10.

Feeding up to eight people, the leg works out at as little as £1.25 per head, with a flat price helping customers not to get caught up with a surprise price tag.

Elsewhere in supermarkets, Waitrose have their 1.85kg legs of lamb for £16, while Tesco's whole leg lamb joints cost £16.50 per 1.5kg and Sainsbury's have their 1.6kg - 2.1kg legs for £18.90.

The new £10 price tag will launch both in store and online on the Iceland website from the 8th April, with the leg itself coming in frozen form, meaning you can save it until the big day.

100% New Zealand lamb, Iceland have confirmed it's also grass-fed throughout its life, giving it a distinct, richer flavour.

Although the lamb is fed on grass, meaning that the meat is naturally leaner, it is still deliciously tender thanks to restrictions in the country that only animals under 1 year may be labelled as ‘lamb’.

You can now get Cadbury Creme Egg-flavoured mayonnaise

For those that have never cooked lamb before, an entire leg of the stuff can be a daunting task, but it's actually much less bother than a lot of other meats as it doesn't need a marinade to break down the fibres, thanks to being naturally tender.

Simply rub the leg with some garlic and rosemary and let the natural juices of the meat do the rest - or go rogue, and opt for a layer of Marmite instead.

Iceland recommend pairing the lamb with a divine red wine such as their award–winning Portuguese Rabo De Gallo (£5.95) and Colossal Reserva (£8) .
