
THREE men have been charged with drug supply offences after police swooped on a house in Shortland on Friday.
Police allegedly found two kilograms of ice, a loaded Remington semi-automatic pistol and cash after swooping on a unit in Marsden Street, Shortland about 4.30pm.

Three men were arrested and taken to Waratah police station. They were due to appear in Newcastle court on Saturday.
A 30-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drugs, knowingly direct activities of criminal group, deal with property proceeds of crime, possess unauthorised pistol, possess ammunition without holding licence and not keep firearm safely.
Two men, aged 28 and 27, were charged with supply prohibited drug, participate criminal group and deal with property proceeds of crime.
Police said their investigations under Strike Force Betel were continuing. The strike force was established in July, with Newcastle drug unit detectives to investigate the large commercial supply of ice.
