ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 news LIVE: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka and England vs Bangladesh latest build-up

Welcome to the Evening Standard’s LIVE coverage of the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Today’s play see Pakistan take on Sri Lanka at the Bristol County Ground, with both sides having followed up opening defeats with victories in their last respective outings.

Sri Lanka – who were humbled by New Zealand in a ten wicket defeat last Saturday – responded with a 34-run victory over Afghanistan three days later.

Pakistan, meanwhile, were all out for 105 in their opening match with West Indies before defeating England after setting the World Cup hosts the biggest run chase target in the competition’s history.

Alongside today’s action we will also be building up to tomorrow’s match between England and Bangladesh, with Eoin Morgan’s side looking to pick themselves up from their defeat to Pakistan last time out.
