Ibrox disturbance: two men left with facial injuries after late-night incident

Two men were rushed to hospital last night after a disturbance in Ibrox.

Police were called to reports of a fight involving a group of men at around 11.25pm (Saturday, May 11).

The incident happened in Edmiston Drive, near to its junction with Broomloan Road.

Police attended and the two injured men, aged 51 and 23, were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

They have since been released after treatment for facial injuries.

Detective Constable Mark Hendry is appealing for information.

He said: “Our enquiries into this incident are at an early stage and we are carrying out enquiries and gathering CCTV footage to establish more information on the circumstances surrounding this incident and identify those involved.

“At this time, I would ask anyone who was in the area who saw this incident take place, or anyone who was driving by who has dash-cam footage to contact us.

"Anyone with information should contact Helen Street Police Station through 101 quoting reference number 5253 of 11th May 2019.”
