Ibrox cannabis farm discovered by police during unsafe tenement evacuation

A cannabis farm was discovered by building standards officers evacuating an unsafe tenement block in the Ibrox area.

Officers gained entry to a property on Copland Road around 10.40pm on Monday after being alerted by workers.

A cannabis cultivation site was discovered inside and a quantity of cannabis was seized.

Glasgow City Council officers were the on the site of the bust evacuating residents after a tenement block on the street was deemed to be unsafe.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "At 10.40pm on Monday, November 30, officers were assisting Glasgow City Council at an address on Copland Road, Glasgow when a cannabis cultivation site was discovered within.

"Enquiries are ongoing.”
