Ibrahima Konate risks wrath of Liverpool fans with opinion on Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk

Ibrahima Konate might be a Liverpool transfer target but that doesn't mean he's ready to cut his nose off to spite his face.

The RB Leipzig centre-back is a top target for the Reds going into this summer's transfer window.

Liverpool are said to be in advanced negotiations with the Frenchman and are ready to trigger his £34million release clause.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds have been short at the back this season with first-team stars Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all suffering loan-term injuries.

Konate is a highly-rated young centre-back who Klopp believes would settle in well at Anfield.

The 21-year-old defender recently took part in a game of 'In That Order' on the UMM YouTube channel where he was asked a series of football-related questions.

Konate was asked to rank Klopp, Joe Mourinho and Pep Guardiola in order of greatness.

But the defender was, understandably, not prepared to put himself in the bad books of any boss and instead replied: "No, no, no, no. I think I cannot answer this question.

"I don't know, I don't know, I don't know."

Konate was later asked to rank Van Dijk, Sergio Ramos and David Alaba, and decided to answer this question.

At the risk of upsetting the Liverpool fans, who aren't hugely keen on the Real Madrid centre-back given what happened in the 2018 Champions League final, Konate responded: "Ramos. Number one of course. Van Dijk then Alaba."
