Ibrahima Konate 'dissatisfied' amid claims Liverpool have completed medical checks

Ibrahima Konate is reportedly dissatisfied with his current situation at RB Leipzig amid claims Liverpool have completed preliminary medical checks on the centre-back.

Liverpool are understood to be in advanced negotiations with the defender and are ready to trigger the £34million release clause in his contract ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Anfield club are in desperate need of new recruits at centre-back with first-team trio Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all out of action for Jurgen Klopp's Reds this season.

And it seems Konate is equally keen to complete a move to Liverpool, according to Sky Germany.

It has been reported that the young Frenchman is dissatisfied with his current situation at Leipzig as he has found himself sitting on the bench more than he would like in recent months.

A summer move was said to be 'quite conceivable' for the defender even before Liverpool showed interest in him.

According to French outlet RMC Sport, Konate has already undergone a number of medical tests in Paris to prepare him for his transfer to Liverpool.

The report adds that despite Liverpool being in the driving seat, there are a number of top clubs monitoring the young centre-back.

That said, Konate's representatives are allegedly confident the defender could take the next step of his career at Liverpool.
