Ianis Hagi targets Rangers improvement as he names the 3 coaches moulding his career

Romanian playmaker Ianis Hagi admits he's struck gold with his coaches so far in his career - but insists there's still plenty of room for improvement.

The Rangers star has developed into a vital player for Steven Gerrard's men after a slow start to the season and he admits it took him time to get used to the physical nature of the Scottish Premiership.

But he revealed he has been working hard on the training pitch to try and get to the top level and admits the inspiration of Gerrard, Adrian Mutu and his dad Gheorghe has been key for him.

Mutu is his Romanian U21 coach and there was brilliant footage of him talking Hagi through set pieces during an international break earlier this year.

And Hagi said: "I have had good coaches. First dad [Gheorghe Hagi], then [Adrian] Mutu in his youth, now Steven Gerrard in Rangers.

"That's what I do at the club. I try to stay as long as possible after training to execute free kicks.

"I think I have reached a point where I am a very good executor of free kicks, but, certainly, there is a lot of work that I have to continue to do, to become perfect.

"Physically I am very well. The championship [in Scotland] being stronger, more aggressive, I had to adapt.

"Football must be played with the mind. I will not become a player who will put others aside, because my style is different. My role in the field is to create.

"As I always said, there is always room for improvement."
