Ianis Hagi shares 'love' for Spanish football as Rangers ace discusses Alaves loan

Rangers midfielder Ianis Hagi has revealed he is loving life in Spain on loan at Alaves.

The Ibrox midfielder, 25, left Rangers on a temporary switch to La Liga in the summer.

Hagi will spend the entirety of the season in Spain after leaving while Michael Beale was manager.

The Romanian international had recovered from a major injury last season and made fleeting appearances before deciding on a summer exit.

And speculation over a permanent deal has been rife since Hagi's start to life at Alaves this season.

Now, Hagi has revealed La Liga has always been his favourite league and admitted he is "in love with the country and the lifestyle" in Spain.

On the La Liga podcast, Hagi said: "As a first rule I think you have to adapt to the team, not the other way around. You have to adapt to the culture, to the dressing room, to everything around that club.

"And it's important not to lose your qualities and be yourself around others. I went to Rangers where I had colleagues from all over the world. I always had to adapt to each culture and be open with everyone.

"It has always been my favourite league and I have always followed it. I love Spanish football, the Spanish mentality. I'm in love with the country and the lifestyle here. This means a lot to a footballer. I'm really enjoying my time here.

"I'm happy to be part of such a fantastic club like Alaves. It's a great opportunity for me. They've had good and not so good moments in their history, but they've always been fighters. They are always ambitious and they align with who I am, my personality and mentality."
