Ianis Hagi sends Rangers fans wild with showboating skills as Ibrox ace shows he's a chip off the old block

Ianis Hagi marvelled at some of legendary dad Gheorghe’s silky skills on social media during the week.

But the Rangers star showed he’s a chip off the old block with a bit of showboating at Ibrox on Friday night.

Hagi posted the mind blown emoji after UEFA posted Hagi Snr leaving Brazilian Roberto Carlos for dead.

It was from the 2000 UEFA Super Cup as Hagi helped his Galatasaray side lift the trophy with a 2-1 win over Real Madrid in Monaco.

However, just a couple of days after that clip was posted it was the young Romanian who was displaying his sublime skills.

Okay, the Premier Sports Cup last-16 against Dunfermline Athletic might not quite be the same stage as his father.

But nevertheless the former Genk man showed unbelievable control to bring down a pinpoint Connor Goldson pass.

Hagi then treated the fans in Sandy Jardine Stand to some Jim Baxter-style keepie-uppies as he looked to mount an attack.

Sadly for the 22-year-old who scored in the 5-0 rout of the Pars - the linesman’s dubious offside flag cut short his attempts to pile more misery on the Fifers.

But the Gers supporters marvelled at his skills and have been praising the Romanian on social media for his skills.

@RheiceMulgrah wrote “I was furious when the flat went up for this. Was up out my seat applauding. Ability.”

@Dixiethedug added: “Reflections of Jim Baxter 1967.”
