Ianis Hagi Rangers transfer situation 'monitored' by Lyon as playmaker tracked ahead of January window

Reports in Romania claim that Ianis Hagi is being watched by Lyon ahead of a January move.

The Rangers playmaker was linked with the likes of Lazio, Roma and Sevilla over the summer but ultimately remained at Ibrox.

However, according to Eurosport in his homeland, the 23-year-old could be set for the exit door.

The report claims the Ligue 1 giants have been monitoring the Romania cap and his performance in the Europa League win over Sparta Prague could push them to make a bid in the January window.

They state that Rangers will ask for a £9million fee for the creative midfielder.

It is further claimed that Galatasaray, Roma, Sevilla are monitoring Hagi’s situation at Ibrox following Steven Gerrard's departure.

They note that Gerrard could look to bring Hagi to the English Premier League and Villa Park next month.

Though he hasn't always started matches but has an impressive record in a Rangers shirt, but was handed an immediate start under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

He showed his ability with an impressive showing in the crucial clash with Sparta to earn a Europa League knockout stage spot.
