Ianis Hagi Rangers transfer news as rising German suitors 'step up' interest after key attacker exit

Newly-promoted German side Bochum will reportedly step up their ambitious bid for Ianis Hagi this summer.

The Romanian international joined Rangers last summer after an impressive loan from Genk, but was in and out of the team last season.

Hagi managed seven goals and in all competitions for Steven Gerrard 's side but has started just 20 Premiership games.

That has led to speculation about a potential exit this summer with the likes of Lazio, Sevilla and Galatasaray named as potential suitors in several reports.

Bundesliga new boys Bochum have also been touted with an interest in the Ibrox playmaker, and Playtech report they will "step up" their interest.

This follows star man Robert Zulj's departure for Al-Nasr in Dubai at the end of the campaign.

The report notes that Bochum representatives have tracked Hagi throughout the season and were impressed with his role in the Premiership title victory.

The 22-year-old, son of Romania's greatest ever player Gheorghe Hagi, has had a nomadic career so far.

He came through at his father's team Viitorul Constanta, and returned there after a difficult spell at Fiorentina, before the switch to Belgium with Genk.
