Ianis Hagi Rangers transfer mystery as Genk blunder announcement of deal

Ianis Hagi has completed his move from Genk to Rangers - but there is some confusion surrounding the announcement of his sale.

The Romanian sealed the permanent switch to Ibrox after the Light Blues exercised their exclusive option to buy the winger after a loan spell last season.

The Belgian side announced the news on their website as they beat Rangers to breaking the news.

But within half an hour, the article was mysteriously deleted from Genk's site.

It remains to be seen why it has disappeared, but Light Blues fans will be hoping it's just a mix up.

If the move does go through, Rangers have wasted no time in snapping up the talented playmaker as they look forward to next term.

Hagi's stint in a blue shirt was cut short last season as the coronavirus pandemic brought football to a stand still.

The playmaker showed his potential on the European stage against Braga and endeared himself to the Ibrox faithful.
