Ianis Hagi Rangers transfer link returns as Lazio 'target' playmaker in bumper deal

Italian giants Lazio are reportedly set to step up their interest in highly-rated Rangers star Ianis Hagi.

The 22-year-old has impressed for Steven Gerrard 's side this season in the Premiership and in the Europa League as they club earned their first domestic title in a decade.

It comes just a year after the Romanian joined Rangers on a permanent basis after an initial loan from Genk.

However, reports in Italy claim that the Ibrox are set to be offered more than quadruple the £3m they paid the Belgian outfit by the Serie A club.

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is reportedly a huge admirer of the midfielder and is willing to pay out around £12m to bring him to the Italian capital this summer, according to outlet Pro X.

Tare and manager Simone Inzaghi have previously been reported in having an interest in Hagi, but after he netted his first goal for Romania against North Macedonia they could be set to increase their original £9m valuation to test Rangers resolve.

Big goals against Hibs and St Johnstone in 1-0 wins ensured Rangers kept up their relentless pace while he's now one assist shy of double figures for the season.

Hagi has previous experience in the Italian top flight having previously been on the books at Fiorentina.
