Ianis Hagi Rangers transfer fee revealed as club negotiate extended 'payment plan'

Rangers will reportedly pay £3million split over three years to acquire Ianis Hagi from Genk on a permanent deal.

The Light Blues have exercised their exclusive option to purchase the Romanian winger after a short loan spell last season.

The Belgian side announced the sale on Tuesday evening  - before shortly removing the article from their website, with Rangers yet to confirm the move.

The original fee inserted in Hagi's loan deal was £4.45m but Rangers have been able to negotiate a reduced price of £3m, split over a three-year period, according to Sky Sports News presenter and talkSPORT host Jim White.

Hagi's stint in a Rangers shirt was cut short last season as the coronavirus pandemic ended the Premiership campaign prematurely.

But he was able to show Steven Gerrard his potential with a brilliant brace in a 3-2 comeback win over Braga in the first leg of their Europa League last 32 tie.
