Ianis Hagi Rangers transfer edges closer as Genk star lands in Edinburgh

Incoming Rangers signing Ianis Hagi has landed in Scotland.

The Genk playmaker is expected to seal a loan move to Ibrox with an option to buy before Friday's transfer deadline.

And the former Fiorentina star has been pictured arriving at Edinburgh Airport ahead of the proposed switch.

The son of Romanian legend Gheorghe, the 21-year-old was watched by Steven Gerrard during the 2018 U-21 European Championships.

The Rangers boss has made his move after admitting signings were needed in the aftermath of Wednesday night's win over Ross County.

He said: "Possibly. I haven’t spoken to Ross Wilson about that yet but we’ve a couple of things brewing besides that so it might alter a few things or make us go in.”

“In general I’m confident we could add. If Jermain isn’t as bad as feared I’m still confident we could add. No officials bids for Jones or Barker that I’m aware of.”
