Ianis Hagi Rangers apology issued by Romanian legend as fallout with famous dad revealed

Romanian legend Florin Raducioiu has made a u-turn on Ianis Hagi and admits he fell out with the Rangers star's dad over comments made earlier this year.

The former AC Milan and West Ham striker infuriated Hagi Snr, Gheorghe, earlier this year when he publicly advised Lazio not to buy Hagi because he wasn't good enough.

But Raducioiu, who scored 21 goals in 40 caps for Romania, has now changing after admitting he's been impressed with Hagi since he signed for Rangers.

The 21-year-old has seven assists in his last seven games for Steven Gerrard's men despite some criticism that he hasn't performed at the level he can.

That included one in the Europa League against his dad's old club Galatasaray and it's fair to say his old man wasn't impressed with Raducioiu.

He said: "After I made those comments about Ianis, Gheorghe broke all contact with me and refused to answer my phone calls.

"But I want to say know I was wrong about his son.

"Ianis is the future of the Romanian national team.

"I'm now convinced the kid has great qualities and will go on to become a very good player. I have been watching him for Rangers and I think he has got better and better.

"He knows everyone in Romania expects a lot from him, but I think he is prepared for that now.

"I have been converted and I am a big fan of his."
