Ianis Hagi on Rangers title charge 'sadness' as playmaker lauds Ibrox fan support

Playmaker Ianis Hagi wishes he was playing in front of a packed Ibrox as Rangers surged towards the title.

Steven Gerrard's men have been ruthless so far this season as they close in on their first Premiership title in a decade.

However, the supporters haven't been able to fill stands across the county in the midst of the Covid outbreak.

Romania cap Hagi has loved playing in front of the Govan faithful so far - highlighting his Europa League strike against Braga as the moment he realised the size of the club.

He now can't wait to have fans back in the stands to celebrate a title victory soon.

Hagi told Rangers TV: “Even though I had the game winner with Hibs at home, the way I felt with Braga was totally different and bigger.

“When I came here I knew what club I was at with the fan base and everything, but until you feel it on your skin, you can’t really explain.

“It was just magic. That’s why the words that came out my mouth in the interview, it was words which just came natural.

"It’s just the feeling that the fans give you so hopefully as soon as possible we can have the fans back and play out for them, because honestly it’s a really good year for myself and the team.

“I can speak for myself and I’m kind of sad inside myself because I can’t experience Ibrox again and it’s so sad, so I can’t wait for the fans to be back and be beside the team.”
