Ianis Hagi makes bullish Rangers claim as he reflects on proud Ibrox debut against Aberdeen

New boy Ianis Hagi says he is ready to be thrown into the Rangers starting XI against Hibs after making his debut off the bench against Aberdeen.

The Romanian playmaker made a brief cameo appearance after signing on Deadline Day from Genk, but it wasn't the perfect start to his Ibrox career as his side failed to claim all three points against the Dons.

Steven Gerrard says a spark in the final third has been missing since returning from the winter break after a defeat to Hearts and Saturday's stalemate against Derek McInnes' men.

Hagi said he was delighted to make is debut, but feels he can be what Rangers are looking for against Jack Ross' men on Wednesday night.

He told Rangers TV: "Obviously I am really happy to make my debut for the first team only being here for two days.

"But at the same time not winning the three points is disappointing. We have a lot of games in front us so we don't have time to think about this game anymore.

"We have to look at the next games and try to get as many points as we can.

"Every minute I spend with the team is really helpful right now. I have to adapt as fast as possible and work on my chemistry .

"I feel ready (to start against Hibs), I feel fit. Everything happened so fast so I've not had a lot of time to breathe the past couple of days.

"I am OK now. Picking the first XI is not my job so you will have to ask the coach."
