Ianis Hagi eases Rangers fan fears as he provides update after awkward knee slide celebration

Rangers goal hero Ianis Hagi may have botched his celebration against Hibs but he could at least see the funny side.

The Romanian moved away from his typical celebration yesterday as he attempted a knee slide rather than the bow he is known for.

After slotting home Kemar Roofe 's cut-back the Ibrox playmaker hit the turf hard and took a painful tumble before dusting himself down and reverting back to the tried and tested celebration.

After the 90 minutes, the 22-year-old laughed off the incident on Twitter posting: "Always dreamed of playing on Boxing Day. 3 points and a goal, made my dream come true even better. P.S. my knees are fine."

The goal against Hibs was Hagi's third goal in his last three starts and the former Genk man is showing the form to prove why Steven Gerrard snapped him up in the summer on a permanent £3m deal.

However, Gerrard will be hoping a resurgent Hagi picks a safer way to enjoy his moment the next time he hits the net.

The goal from the son of Gheorghe Hagi secured 10 consecutive home wins for the Light Blues at Ibrox as they continued their Scottish Premiership dominance.
