Serie A big-hitters Lazio have dropped their interest in Rangers loan star Ianis Hagi - claims a top Romanian agent.
The Italians have been tipped with a move for the son of ex- Barcelona and Real Madrid legend Gheorghe - who is on loan at Ibrox from Belgian side Genk.
Rangers have first option to sign the 21-year-old for £4.5 million with the loan deal currently due to end this summer.
And they won't face any competition for the Romanian international from Italian high-fliers Lazio, says Giovani Becali, who is the brother of Steaua Bucharest owner Gigi Becali and a top agent in his homeland.
He said: "There is absolutely nothing in these stories about Ianis Hagi and Lazio.
"And the reason I know this for sure is because I have a very good relationship with the sports director at Lazio and I asked him directly whether they were interested in Ianis.
"I can say for sure Lazio are not interested in signing him."
Hagi and his dad have both hinted this month they would be happy to stay on at Rangers under Steven Gerrard if they tried to make the deal permanent.
