Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged Arsenal fans to be "positive" and support Mikel Arteta and the Gunners team ahead of their clash against Burnley.
The north London got off to the worst possible start in August, losing all three of their Premier League openers against Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.
But after Arsenal beat Norwich 1-0 last weekend thanks to a goal from club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, there is optimism that results will start to filter their way.
With that in mind, Wright wants fans to support Arteta and the project he is building.
"You’ve got to be positive," he told ITV news.
"I think that what’s happening with the team and the players that he’s buying, the young players and the players he’s trying to integrate, we’ve got to continue to support them, and support the manager and support the club."
When asked whether Arteta should leave if Arsenal do not improve this season, Wright added: “"f we can finish better than eighth, then it’s progress.
"Why would they [the fans] be calling for him to leave if we finish better than we done last season?
"Of course, people are going to put pressure on him because of the size of the club, but for me, I think we’re going to be fine."
Arsenal travel to Burnley this weekend as they bid to make it two wins in two for the first time this season.
Arteta is yet to win as a manager at Turf Moor and will be expecting a tough game, but the Gunners will be confident that they can take three points back to London with them.
