Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hailed Eddie Nketiah following Monday night's FA Cup win against Portsmouth.
The Gunners youngster was on the scoresheet at Fratton Park as the visitors put their shock Europa League exit behind them to advance to the quarter-final of a competition they have a rich history in.
Nketiah was restored to the starting line up by head coach Mikel Arteta with Alexandre Lacazette dropping to the bench following a rather below-par showing against Olympiacos last time out.
And Nketiah repaid Arteta's faith with his third goal in six appearances since returning from a loan spell at Leeds United.
Turning home a cross from Reiss Nelson, the England U21 international's strike six minutes into the second half all but ended the game as a contest after Sokratis had broken the deadlock shortly before half-time.
It's now two goals in as many FA Cup appearances for Nketiah this season and his latest showing on the south coast didn't go unnoticed by a certain former Gunners centre-forward.
Taking to social media, Wright reacted to Nketiah's Instagram post by praising the 20-year-old's all-round performance.
"Fantastic link up play tonight!" Wright said. "Looking sharp."
Nketiah reacted to the 2-0 win on the social media platform with a short message.
"Mature performance from the team to book a place in the Quarter-finals," he wrote. "Happy to get another goal for @Arsenal. God is good!
Speaking after the game, Arteta identified the two things Nketiah does that impresses him the most.
"He has been phenomenal," he said.
"The workrate that he puts in, the rhythm that he goes into pressing, his understanding of the game - when to come and when to go in behind - and always in front of goal, he is ready to score."
