Ian Wright has called for Stan Kroenke to leave Arsenal following the dramatic U-turn which saw the Gunners pull out of the European Super League.
Arsenal were confirmed as one of 12 founding members of a new breakaway European Super League on Sunday, along with Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
All clubs - which also included those from Spain and Italy - would not have expected the intense backlash that followed from fans, players, pundits, the media, governing bodies and the football world.
And those voices were heard as on Tuesday, Arsenal were one of the clubs to confirm they would be withdrawing from the much-maligned proposed competition.
In a statement on the club website, it read: "The last few days have shown us yet again the depth of feeling our supporters around the world have for this great club and the game we love.
"We needed no reminding of this but the response from supporters in recent days has given us time for further reflection and deep thought.
"It was never our intention to cause such distress, however when the invitation to join the Super League came, while knowing there were no guarantees, we did not want to be left behind to ensure we protected Arsenal and its future.
"As a result of listening to you and the wider football community over recent days we are withdrawing from the proposed Super League. We made a mistake, and we apologise for it."
Despite being the only English club - at the time of writing - to apologise for being a founding member in the first place, club legend Wright was still rightly seething.
In two very simple tweets coming four minutes after each other - Wright reinforced his point that he wanted Kroenke to leave Arsenal.
At 11.16pm, Wright took to Twitter and posted: "#KroenkeOut". Four minutes later - the same again.
Wright's words will no doubt be echoed by most - if not all - of those following the Gunners and pressure may come on his position in the coming days after leading such a disastrous attempt to break away.
