Ian Wright says what all Arsenal fans are thinking over penalty call against Sheffield United

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has given his thoughts on the decision to not award Arsenal a penalty in the 1-1 Premier League draw against Sheffield United.

The Gunners took a one goal lead into half-time thanks to Gabriel Martinelli's strike in the closing minutes of the first period of the game. It was the Brazilian's ninth goal of the season in all competitions.

In the second half of the game, with Arsenal still one goal up, Nicolas Pepe made his way into the box when he appeared to be tripped by the Sheffield United defender.

Referee Mike Dean didn't point to the spot, and the incident was referred to the Video Assistant Referee in Stockley Park.

However, after the check was complete it was deemed that the official hadn't made a clear and obvious error to not award a penalty kick, and the game continued, much to the bafflement of many Arsenal fans.

Ian Wright was no different, with the former striker making his feelings on the decision clear on social media.

"How is that not a pen!!!!!" he wrote on his Twitter account following the incident.

The anger from fans would have been compounded when Sheffield United scored a 83rd minute equaliser to take a point back to Bramall Lane.

The result leaves Arsenal four points adrift of their opponents in the Premier League table.
