Arsenal legend Ian Wright has praised the performance of Mesut Ozil as he made his return to the Gunners first-team in the 5-5 draw with Liverpool.
On an incredible night at Anfield where ten goals were scored, Ozil was one of the stars for Unai Emery's side during a thrilling contest.
However, he was subbed off after 60 minutes with Emery confirming afterwards that it was a planned change ahead of the Premier League action at the weekend.
That decision was not popular with the travelling supporters and the game then turned against the Gunners, ultimately culminating in Emery's side conceding their advantage to draw 5-5 before losing on penalties.
Ozil's sublime performance will certainly reignite the debate around his standing in the squad in North London and will increase the calls for the World Cup winner to be utilised more regularly.
That view was also shared by Wright, who took to social media during the game to issue his verdict upon the former Real Madrid star.
"Finding space. Total composure in the final third. Clear chances being created. So much of what we need!!!!!! Fantastic tonight Mes," he posted on Twitter.
Ozil will now be hoping to be a part of the squad for this weekend's Premier League clash with Wolves, where Arsenal are seeking a victory after failing to win their last two matches.
