Ian Wright's advice to Eddie Nketiah while he plays second fiddle to Patrick Bamford

Eddie Nketiah made an "immediate impact" for Leeds United on Boxing Day when he came off the bench, hailed former Arsenal great Ian Wright.

The Gunners loanee, whose tenure at Elland Road may reportedly be nearing a curtailed close, was inspirational again after he arrived as a second-half substitute against Preston North End.

The striker has key in helping to shift balance back in favour of the hosts after a dismal opening half that saw them trailing.

After Stuart Dallas landed a late equaliser to earn a much-needed point, Nketiah was feted on social media again, with Wright, a consistent champion of the young forward, taking to Twitter to share his praise again.

In response to a message posted by the 20-year-old addressing the result, he wrote: "Immediate impact yesterday. All you can do."

Nketiah has been strangled for time since his arrival at Elland Road to an extent, initially kept down the pecking order behind Patrick Bamford before he spent a month on the sidelines through injury.

Parent club Arsenal are reportedly poised to recall him, in order to send him elsewhere for more game time, while fellow loanee Jack Clarke has already returned to Tottenham Hotspur.

Since joining United, Nketiah has scored five goals in 17 appearances, with all of his game-time in the Championship coming off the bench so far.

In his two lone EFL Cup appearances, he played for 168 minutes, almost half alone of what he has featured for across over a dozen matches in the second tier.
