Ian Wright predicts what would happen if Chelsea sealed transfer for Tottenham star Harry Kane

Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright believes Harry Kane would score goals at an "alarming rate" at Stamford Bridge if Chelsea were to land his signature this summer.

The future of the Tottenham Hotspur striker has been the most talked topic in football this week after a national media report on Monday evening claimed that Kane had informed Spurs of his desire to seal a summer exit.

However, whilst Kane is growing frustrated with the current situation in north London, football.london understands that he has not directly told Spurs' hierarchy that he wants to seal a summer exit.

Nevertheless, Kane has now dropped a clear hint about his plans for the future in a revealing interview with Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, suggesting that it has hurt him this season watching UEFA Champions League football and not being involved.

"I think it’s definitely a conversation to be had with the club," he said in regards to having a conversation with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy about his future. "Yes, like you say, I want to be playing in the biggest games. The biggest moments.

"Like, this season I’m there watching the Champions League, watching the English teams in there doing amazing. They are the games that I want to be involved in.

"I want to be in them games. So for sure, it’s a moment in my career where I have to kind of reflect and see where I’m at and have a good, honest conversation with the chairman. I hope that we can have that conversation.

"I’m sure that he’ll want to set out the plan of where he sees it but ultimately it’s going to be down to me and how I feel and what’s going to be the best for me and my career this moment in time."

Unsurprisingly, a whole host of big-name clubs are already being linked with a move for Kane ahead of this summer's transfer window, although any deal is likely to cost well over £100million to stand any chance of getting it over the line.

Spurs' Premier League rivals, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are all amongst those showing an interest, with City, according to reports, planning to hold talks with Spurs over the prospect of striking a deal.

However, former Arsenal man Wright believes that Kane could be perfectly suited to Chelsea's style of play, insisting that he would score tonnes of goals because of Tuchel's way of setting his team up.

Wright told the Kelly & Wrighty Show: "When you look at Chelsea and the way they're playing under Tuchel and how solid they are at the back and how they can get the ball up front, you could see him scoring goals at Chelsea at an alarming rate."

Chelsea are poised to prioritise signing a new striker this summer after a disappointing maiden campaign in English football for Timo Werner, who joined the Blues from RB Leipzig almost a year ago.

Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland has been the Blues' top target to improve their goals tally, but the prospect of Kane being open to a move is bound to alert them.

However, the prospect of Levy selling Kane to a direct Premier League rival, as well as local rival, could prove to be slim, perhaps ruling Chelsea out of the race before it has even begun.
