Ian Wright slipped in a brilliant tribute to late rapper and actor DMX during his latest appearance on Match of the Day.
The Grammy-nominated American hip-hop star - real name Earl Simmons - died earlier this week at the age of 50.
DMX - aka ‘Dark Man X’ - had been in intensive care at a hospital in New York for five days after suffering a major heart attack at his home.
His passing provoked an outpouring of grief and tributes from around the world of music and beyond.
Appearing as a pundit on Match of the Day on Saturday evening to review the day’s Premier League action, Wright offered his own tribute to DMX, much to the delight of the rapper’s fans across social media.
Asked by MOTD host Gary Lineker how Leeds managed to shock runaway leaders Manchester City with a last-gasp 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium that came courtesy of a Stuart Dallas double, Wright’s analysis began with a reference to one of DMX’s biggest songs - the 1998 hit ‘Ruff Ryders' Anthem’.
