Arsenal legend Ian Wright has confirmed he will appear on this year's edition of 'I'm a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here'.
Rumours had been circulating that the former Gunners striker would appear on the reality TV show that will see him taking part in challenges including thousands of insects and jungle creatures, as well as camping out in the Australian jungle.
And now the 56-year-old has confirmed his decision to go onto the programme.
In a tweet, the former footballer-turned pundit wrote: 'It's the worst kept secret...but it's now official, I'm going into the Jungle. My team are going to manage my social media while I'm gone, so be nice! They'll use #TeamIan. See you on the other side.'
In the video he said: "I'll miss football. I love football, it's my whole life. I will not miss VAR."
Wright has revealed that Harry Redknapp's success in last year's show inspired him to appear on the show.
“When I was first approached this year, we thought about it for ages, as it is not something where you think ‘Ah, I will do that’.
“I have been asked to do it every year, and every time I have always thought, I am definitely not doing that because there was more and more jeopardy involved.
“But I think the last series was one of the best I have seen in respect of camaraderie.”
He added: “Harry and I play golf together, and we spoke about it.
“He had a really great time, it was a fantastic thing for him to do and he is still talking about it to this day.
“Now it does appeal to me at this particular time. I like the vibe, it is a really cool show and I am really intrigued.”
