Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Monday, February 8th.
Joe Willock prediction
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has stated he does not believe Joe Willock will ever get a genuine chance with the Gunners.
The 21-year-old had a debut to remember for Newcastle United, opening the scoring in a 3-2 win against Southampton following his deadline day loan from Arsenal.
While that left fans in north London with his display, Wright does not believe he will get the opportunities at Arsenal that he will on Tyneside.
"He’s a box-to-box midfielder and I don’t think he’ll ever get the opportunity at Arsenal to play like he did for Newcastle, or stay in the team long enough to do it.
Overmars keen on return
Arsenal legend Marc Overmars is said to be keen on a return to north London as he seeks a new challenge away from Ajax.
The Dutch icon has been Director of Football with Ajax for the past eight years, during which time the Eredivisie side reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
De Telegraaf reports that Overmars is also open to a move to Barcelona, who he joined in 2000 to bring an end to a three-year stint in north London.
Whether Arsenal are open to a reunion remains to be seen but it's an interesting prospect for Edu to consider.
Campbell reacts to Tierney absence
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell believes "it would be huge" if Kieran Tierney is fit to face Leeds United next weekend.
The Gunners have been without the Scotland international for the last four matches, the last two of which have been defeats, and Campbell is aware of the full-back's importance.
“It would be huge to have Tierney back because you can see what you miss down the left-hand side when he is out,” he told Football Insider.
“Having a natural left-footer on that flank, someone who has pace and power, is very welcome in the side. You can rely on Tierney to bring you everything down that left-hand side. We miss him.”
