Ian Wright issues five-word message to Arsenal chiefs after Raul Sanllehi departure

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has issued a message to the club's chiefs after the announcement of Raul Sanllehi's exit on Saturday.

The former Barcelona man departs the Emirates Stadium after a three-year stint with the club, where the Gunners have struggled to find stability.

While FA Cup glory was achieved this term, Arsenal face a third consecutive season outside of the Champions League following a disastrous Premier League campaign.

Unai Emery, a figure Sanllehi was instrumental in appointing as Arsene Wenger's successor, was sacked and replaced by Mikel Arteta, who faces a tough job revitalising the north London side.

Arteta's early months in charge have been promising, capped off by the club's victory over Chelsea at Wembley, but there is still work to be done.

The departure of Sanllehi is the latest in a long line of significant changes over the years and Arsenal's second all-time leading goalscorer Wright has made it clear that Arteta cannot be allowed to slip through the net.

Posting on social media after the announcement of Sanllehi's exit, Wright said: "Protect Arteta at all costs!"
