Ian Wright identifies where Patrick Bamford can improve for Leeds United

Ian Wright says Patrick Bamford needs to learn from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min's displays against Leeds United for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Spurs ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against Leeds on Saturday, with Son and Kane both once again demonstrating their impressive partnership together.

Leeds had five shots on target, but were unable to find the back of the net in a rare off day for their attack.

Match of the Day pundit Wright believes Son and Kane possess a drive to succeed and create goal-scoring opportunities for themselves, which is something he feels Bamford needs to do more of.

Arsenal legend Wright says Bamford is enjoying a good season, with 10 Premier League goals to his name as the Whites' main striker.

Yet he argued Bamford is too reliant on chances coming his way rather than creating opportunities to score for himself.

He said: “It is the energy and determination, for me, which you do not see a lot of now. Olivier Giroud does it. You saw it again today that Son attacks the near-post with real attention.

“This is something that Patrick Bamford, who is having a great season, needs to do more.

“He is hoping something happens for him, but he needs to show a lot more drive and determination.

“We know Kane and Son are on the same wavelength. Once Kane gets the ball, Son is off. He has got two yards on Stuart Dallas there, but he is going in there with real intention to take it. Look at his pace. Bang!”
