Ian Wright explains why Arsenal will struggle against Manchester United in Premier League clash

Ian Wright has explained why Marcus Rashford will be key to Arsenal struggling against Manchester United when the two sides meet this afternoon.

United have responded well to a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Tottenham at the start of this month. The Reds beat Newcastle beat 4-1 following that and have since defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and shared a stalemate with Chelsea last weekend.

Rashford bagged goals in the aforementioned wins over Newcastle and PSG and Wright is expecting the 22-year-old England international to pose a substantial threat at Old Trafford.

This is on the back of a strong display by Jamie Vardy against Arsenal in Leicester's 1-0 victory over the Gunners and Wright believes Rashford could replicate that counter-attacking threat.

“You look at Manchester United as well who are another team that will want to play on the break,” Wright told Premier League Productions.

“You’re going to need to be able to pass through them, be able to break them down. Manchester United will do the same thing [as Leicester] and they’ve got even better players going forward, more than just Vardy.

“It’s a tough one, we knew Leicester were going to be tough and we know Manchester United are going to be tough.

“With the counter-attacking, you look at Arsenal and you can see what happened with Vardy there tonight. Rashford could cause us problems.”

United will be focused on the Arsenal encounter later this week as the attention is on the Champions League at the moment, with RB Leipzig to face the Reds on Wednesday in the prestigious competition.
