Ian Wright explains what it is like to work as a TV pundit with Roy Keane

Ian Wright says he gets butterflies in his stomach when working as a TV pundit alongside Roy Keane.

The ex-Republic of Ireland star has become known for his outbursts and criticism of players while working for Sky Sports or ITV and Wright claims none of that is for show.

Explaining what it's like to work with Keane, the Arsenal legend told Off The Ball: "It’s not even that you play off of it, Roy says what he says and you either agree with it or disagree with it and if you disagree then you know you’re going into an area where you don’t know what’s coming next.

"What I love about it is that I’m never far away from bursting out laughing and he’s not either.

"He’s a serious guy and he always says to me before he goes on ‘give me none of that banter b******s man, I’m here to talk serious football’ so I’m already ready to go on and laugh and smile with him."

Ian Wright took a cheeky dig at two Arsenal ex-players while congratulating Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his new deal (IAN WRIGHT)

Wright added: "He never says anything on there for effect, a little while back he said something about the performances of David De Gea and Harry Maguire and he meant that.

"When you know Roy Keane take that for what it is because he probably would be swinging but for me and Roy now when they say it’s you and Roy Keane I’m instantly excited because we have a great day and then we go on the box and we’ll be talking normally but he literally goes and turns into another person.

"When I’m on with Roy I get butterflies in my stomach."
