Ian Wright believes Liverpool have "found another one" after Caoimhin Kelleher made his Premier League debut.
In the absence of the injured Alisson, Jurgen Klopp selected Kelleher ahead of Adrian in the UEFA Champions League in midweek and the 22-year-old made his first league start against Wolves on Sunday.
Kelleher kept a clean sheet as Liverpool ran out 4-0 winners but despite the dominant scoreline, the goalkeeper was called into action on a couple of occasions but was composed and convincing in his handling and distribution.
His performances drew high praise from Wright and Jermaine Jenas on Match of the Day, who were full of praise for Kelleher, Neco Williams and Rhys Williams for the way they have slotted into the team amid Liverpool's injury crisis.
“Liverpool and their attitude, with the players missing, the players that have come in, like Williams, Matip and Kelleher," Wright told MOTD2.
"He looks very confident (Kelleher). The decisions he’s making and the saves he’s making.
"That was some really good play from Podence, trying to chip him - that’s a super save.
"I know Adrian came in and did a decent job, but there’s a confidence about this guy.
"I’m hearing that he played outfield, he’s got great hands too. Coming and taking crosses gives your defenders untold confidence. They’ve found another one.”
Jermaine Jenas added: “The youngsters are really showing themselves. Everyone that’s up there hoped Liverpool would go away because they’ve lost their best players, we all thought they were supposed to drop down the table but these youngsters are doing a great job.”
