Ian Wright echoes Arsenal fans' complaints after duo suffer disappointing snub

Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright believes certain players will be “gutted” following their exclusion from Gareth Southgate’s squad for the November internationals.

Gunners duo Emile Smith Rowe and Ben White have both missed out on a call-up, despite the pair having an impressive month that has seen the side rise to sixth in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta does have two players who will represent the Three Lions over the break though, as Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka secured their places in the squad.

Smith Rowe was also described as “pushing and unlucky” to have not made the final selection from Southgate.

However, Arsenal fans were not pleased with the decision from the national team coach and voiced their opinions on social media shortly after.

TheArsenalReview: "How have Smith Rowe and White not been included in the upcoming England squad?!"

AFCAaron7: "That England squad is proof that Southgate doesn't care about form. How on earth has Smith-Rowe not been called up. I'm genuinely confused how he hasn't been picked. He's had a better season than half those names on that list..."

Irish_Gooner: "Emile Smith Rowe and Ben White should absolutely be in this team, but also, I’d be fucking raging if they did get in got injured."

Football pundit and former Gunners striker Wright was also quick to take to social media to echo the thoughts of the Arsenal fans.

“I've been there where form is ignored and certain players are guaranteed spots!!" he tweeted.

"It's hard to take because there is nothing else you can do. I don't know what Tomori needs to do get in and get a chance. Cresswell, Bowen, White, Gallagher will all be gutted.”

The 58-year-old played 33 times for England between 1991 and 1998, the years he happened to also play for Arsenal.
