Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed former Leicester City captain Wes Morgan was a better skipper than Steven Gerrard.
He reckons the Jamaican stopper's heroic season leading Leicester to the Premier League title is what sets him apart from the Liverpool icon and current Rangers manager.
Morgan was an ever-present in the Foxes' remarkable run as they pipped the Gunners and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to become 2015/16 champions.
Listed as 5000/1 outsiders going into the season under Claudio Ranieri, Morgan's shock troops pulled off one of modern football's greatest miracles.
Gerrard meanwhile came up short in the league in 2013/14 but did spark a remarkable comeback from 3-0 down to win the 2005 Champions League final with Liverpool against AC Milan.
But Wright, who sits just seven goals behind Gerrard in the Premier League all-time scorers list, believes Morgan's role in the fairytale run sets him apart from the Rangers boss.
Speaking on the Match of the Day Top 10 podcast, Wright was asked to name his top 10 captains of the Premier League era.
And he said: “Wes Morgan won a Premier League title with a Leicester side no one expected.
"The fact is Steven Gerrard nearly did it. He nearly led Liverpool to it.
“But Wes Morgan with the team he had and the way Leicester did it. It's a miracle.
"It's the miracle of the Premier League, with journeymen and people we didn't know.
“Obviously Kante and Mahrez, they came out of the blue, Vardy. And then he (Morgan) had to keep them going through that season."
